Sonya Forbes, principal, has been a CPA for almost twenty years in both Florida and Georgia.  Her accounting career started in public accounting.  After 12 years in the public arena, she made the jump to industry working as the Chief Financial Officer for Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County, Inc.

Growing up in a small town in central Florida, she felt the pull of the "big city lights".  She lived in Atlanta, Georgia for ten years while obtaining her bachelors and masters degree.  A career with regional accounting firms gave her hands on experience with a mix of industries and working with all aspects of financials and accounting.  After ten years, the hustle and bustle (and the traffic!), made her long for home.  She moved back to Florida to continue her career in public accounting which eventually gave her the opportunity to move into a senior leadership position with a well respected not-for-profit, Habitat for Humanity.  After starting a family, she decided that she wanted her son to have the experience of a close-knit community and growing up with lots of family.  In 2018, she moved to the panhandle to give him and herself just that.

Sonya's twelve years in the public accounting arena as an auditor, consultant and tax preparer has given her the ability to contribute to all aspects of your business.
